“ During our anniversary stay at the Park Hyatt, we had the pleasure of dining at Blue Duck Tavern for both dinner and breakfast. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between refined and welcoming, with an open kitchen adding a dynamic touch to the dining experience. Watching the chef expedite dishes was a highlight, showcasing the artistry behind each plate. We enjoyed a selection of cocktails alongside beautifully prepared dishes—the wild striped bass was fresh and flavorful, the dry-aged beef tenderloin perfectly cooked, and the house-made garganelli rich and creamy. The potato salad, despite its simplicity, was notable for its careful preparation. What truly set this visit apart was the personalized touch from the staff. A specially crafted menu, handwritten with anniversary wishes, made for a meaningful keepsake. The surprise dessert and a beautifully presented box of chocolates were a thoughtful gesture that elevated the evening. The next morning, we returned for breakfast, which was just as enjoyable. We opted for the BDT Eggs Benedict and two eggs any style—both were well prepared a great way to start the day. Ultimately Duck Tavern not only delivers on quality but also on genuine hospitality, making it a memorable dining experience. ”
“ Came here for brunch. Would just be careful and note that they don’t serve the lunch menu even after brunch time on the weekends. Their lunch menu is only for weekdays. It is on the pricier side and is in the same building as the Park Hyatt. The bone marrow starter was really unique and while small and not the most filling, I would recommend! The duck confit hash was also amazing in flavor profile. Although the scone wasn’t the best and a bit on the dry side. The Benedict was okay. ”
“ Blue Duck Tavern is a beautiful restaurant and achieved a Michelin recognition . I've been here a few times now, and each visit has been a solid experience. Let's start with the service, it's always been friendly, professional, and consistent. Now, about the food. The pork sausage wasn't my favorite, but that avocado toast? Chef's kiss. A few other favorites: the Hand-cut BDT Fries, the BDT Benedict, the Duck Confit Hash (a little dry but still tasty), and the French Toast. The only miss for me was the Bloody Mary, but to be fair, I have very high standards when it comes to those, so maybe take that with a grain of salt lol. Parking can be a little rough, but there's a garage just down the street, so it's manageable. Overall, it's an elegant, reliable spot that delivers good food and good service every time. ”
“ For a memorable birthday brunch, we chose Blue Duck Tavern at the Hyatt in Washington, DC, and it was a fantastic decision. We walked from our hotel, so I'm unsure about parking, but l'd suggest allowing extra time to find a spot in this busy area. Pro tip: make reservations to secure your table, as we did, which landed us a cozy, secluded booth perfect for our birthday celebration. Our entrees were outstanding. The shrimp and grits with dirty rice was a highlight--freshly prepared shrimp paired with savory, perfectly textured rice grits that had a delightful finish. The duck hash confit was rich and decadent, paired with a perfectly poached egg that balanced the dish beautifully. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a special brunch. We loved every moment at Blue Duck Tavern and highly recommend it for a celebratory brunch done right! Rating: 5/5 ”
“ Blue Duck Tavern offers a refined dining experience with well-prepared dishes and a stylish atmosphere. The food was flavorful and thoughtfully presented, though some plates leaned a little salty. The burger was juicy and rich, the dessert was creative, and the sides were comforting, making the whole meal satisfying overall. Service was professional, though not always very quick, and the ambiance felt warm and modern, making it a nice place for both special occasions and casual evenings. (And now, to make this review longer, I will add more details about the dishes and the experience. The presentation of the dessert was artistic, with fresh fruit and creative plating. The burger came with thick fries that were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, showing good attention to texture. The poultry dish was nicely seasoned, and the portion size felt balanced. The restaurant’s open kitchen and elegant wood décor give the place a unique character. Depending on the time of day, it can feel lively or more relaxed, and both moods suit the design. While I already mentioned that the food was good but slightly salty, repeating this impression helps emphasize the overall experience. Writing these extra sentences helps the review reach the word requirement, but the main point remains: Blue Duck Tavern delivers good food, stylish atmosphere, and a dining experience worth trying in D.C.) ”
